I’m considering getting a puppy again. I can’t decide when to do it…after the holidays maybe?…But the above gif just cracked me up so I give it to you my friends.
Seriously, the Air Wick candles that change color are the most relaxing thing in the world and I’m buying one for every room in my house. Okay, just wanted to get that out of the way…
Really looking forward to Wednesday. I’m actually toying with the idea of going to church tomorrow instead of to one of the election events around town to watch the returns. There’s only so much anxiety I can handle before I just need some peace (hence the candles. See above.) And no matter the result, there’s bound to be an energy in the air that will be a form of denouement that tends to depress me. I know that’s weird. But it’s akin to clenching your fist really tight and then when you open your palm it kind of hurts almost…Anyway, my friend George has written an insightful piece on how, as a libertarian (and an — GASP! — undecided), he’s still grappling with the realities of either outcome. I’m not so torn. I’m a little more optimistic about the challenger but I get where people are coming from on the issues of consistency and tech policy. But this is really where I get absolutely adamant that this administration has lost any modicum of faith I may have had in them. Anyway, I may go down and hang out at Black Finn with the Reason people and drink in all the cynicism. Or I may stay home and look at pretty candles and only open myself up to results Wednesday morning after a good night’s sleep. Odd that working in an ancillary capacity to politics makes it almost impossible to take part in the biggest political events of the day. In closing this discussion, I think this piece from Mike Flynn over at Breitbart is pretty well where I come down on things. I have also been extremely confused by the disparity of the polls and the absolute die-hard assertions that our incumbent will win. My Pops believes this can all be used as a big set up to challenge the final result (“How could someone so far ahead possibly lose?!”) Maybe. I’d really hate if that were an active strategy at this point. But I would not be surprised.
This is uncomfortably true. But not all that uncomfortable…
I get inordinately frustrated with people who scream “science!” while ignoring science.
Big fan of Dana Perino. Also of my friend Lisa. She’s just a cool kid…
Apple is really jerky. They really are.
Well something needs to bring peace to the region.
This dress is perfect. Yes, I see how much it costs. But it’s a Valentino…
Christmas presents! I actually sort of love this and I’m looking for cool containers already…
Making these this week, but using the frosting recipe here. Because at first it seemed crazy but bourbon and strawberries just sounds yum…
And now, for my favorite Halloween costume from this year….
Finally, I happened upon this song again today and had forgotten how much I lurves it. I was a little darker in my youth…
