Greetings my lovelies! Finding myself on the other side of madness because, as usual, life likes to toss changes and conundrums at unsuspecting people just trying to make the days make some kind of sense. But my coworker is amusing me with a spot-on impersonation of George W. Bush (which he can speed up a little to become Rick Perry), so there’s that. Anyway, I’ve been thinking a little about the coming election and, in spite of Rick Perry’s “scary” ties to Christian fundamentalist groups (whatever that means), people I know on the left seem oddly reticent about actually ripping him apart. Maybe that comes later but a part of me is pretty convinced that it’s really about fatigue…and the man does just seem to offer something like a spark. Kind of like when you’re all bummed and someone makes you laugh and you remember that life is as much about hilarity as it is anything else.
Well, the first UGA game is Saturday and there’s a little shindig house party out in Virginia that will feature some of the best peeps I know. And billiards. And cornhole. And food. Basically a tailgate at the sweet pad of some very nice people. And I mean this was part of the email:
“I’ll plan to serve the meats off the grill around 5:00 if that works for all. I’ve already got two cases of beer in the pong/karaoke fridge (I keep the Silver Bullet in there), another case+ of slow drinking beer in the “beer fridge” (varieties such as Blue Moon, Sam Adams, etc), all types of wine, and some mixes for the daiquiri machine. If you want something else, feel free to bring it.”
I know right?! So excited…Speaking of, check it out ladies. I think it might be required reading before heading to Penn Quarter…
Other fun diversions for you:
Great song. Weird idea. But also, awesome.
I thought, “These would be great for the nephew!” Then i thought, “or for me…”
I’m not sure what to think about this. But I’d love your input if you know me and care to bring it up if we catch each other around…I keep hearing about a “humanitarian” war with Syria potentially on the horizon. And well, the question posed is if that’s actually possible…It’s a big question.
Finally, a conversation I had yesterday reminded me of this song and then I got the vivid image of my brother John reenacting the video in our living room in Atlanta. Sorry John, but you totally did. And it was hilarious.
